Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore Camping Video

I have been exploring Pictured Rocks for more than 30 years. Recently, we made a four day trip there that hit all my favorite places in the National Lakeshore.

Day one; we visited waterfalls outside the lakeshore because it was raining and I love photographing waterfalls in the rain. Day two; we explored the eastern end of the lakeshore, The Dunes. We even hiked over the Grand Sable Dunes from Sable Lake to the dune's bluff over Lake Superior. We were the only people on the dunes that afternoon. Day Three, we visited the middle part of the park, The Chapel Beach - Mosquito Beach Loop. This loop is 10+ miles, but our GPS said we did more than 18 miles which included all our side trips. This seems crazy but we did hike for 8.5 hours so it doesn't sound too outlandish. Day four; we visited the western end of the lakeshore, The Cliffs.

We stayed at the Munising KOA and camped in our Winnebago Minnie Drop. It was wooded and had that up north feel. It was also very centrally located for exploring the 52-mile-long national lakeshore. In this 4k video you'll see the spectacular sandstone cliffs that tower 200 feet above Lake Superior and give the national lakeshore its name plus Wagner Falls, Laughing Whitefish Falls, Upper Au Train Falls, Sable Falls, Grand Sable Lake, Grand Sable Dunes, Log Slide Overlook, Au Sable Light Station, Hurricane River, Chapel Falls, Chapel Rock, Grand Portal, Petit Portal, Mosquito Beach, Mosquito Falls, Miners Beach, Munising Falls, and Miners Falls.

The song for soundtrack of this 4k folk pop music video is "Gone" by my daughter Aspen Jacobsen was inspired by my father's struggles with Alzheimer's. It is from her 2019 Americana folk-pop album 'Love Each Other Right.'
